Job Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Whey Production Operations

a. Oversee, delegate, and perform all processes involved in whey manufacturing to produce whey according to company specifications, quality and safety objectives.

b. Perform testing and inspection, and make needed adjustments to the process.

c. Operate, inspect and troubleshoot all whey production equipment for maximum quality and throughput. Perform preventive maintenance as required.

d. Conduct daily team meetings to review safety, productivity and quality.

e. Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment.

f. Maintain computer systems, records, log sheets, and any other required records incidental to the operations (i.e.D365, Scanworkx & Power Apps). .

g. Oversee all ERP data entries and issues on the production floor. Communicate any issue to Team Manager or IT.

  1. Leadership

a. Provide leadership, direction, training, and mentoring to all Associates performing work in the whey plants.

b. Answer process/product related questions to ensure they understand and can complete procedures in the most cost efficient manner while producing high quality product.

c. Respond to matters of concern regarding personnel, equipment, and product, and provide workable solutions.

d. Analyze and audit production information and provide feedback to Operations Management regarding concerns or issues related to performance, quality, safety, scheduling, and labor distribution.

e. Lead meetings to enhance communication, establish priorities, and assignments.

f. Provide Associate performance related feedback to Operations Management.

g. Lead and/or participate in CI projects for safety, production and quality that pertain to production.

  1. Regulatory Compliance and Continuous Improvement

a. Complete all required documentation, recordkeeping, and reporting as required by law and/or regulatory agencies, (i.e. DNR, DOL, EEOC, FDA, IMS, OSHA, SQF, USDA, WDA, etc.).

b. Follow all SAFETY (food & workplace) policies and procedures.

c. Make recommendations to improve production rates, increase quality and/or promote safety.

d. Independently search, recommend and implement process and data entry improvements that maximize the use of computer systems to eliminate redundancy, manual data entry, and unnecessary paperwork.

e. Work with management and engineering in the installations of new equipment and processes.

a. Follow company policies and procedures.

b. Follow government standards and regulations.

c. Provide back-up relief as needed.

d. Participate in the interview process for new hires.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education

High School or GED Required

2 Year / Associate Degree Preferred

Experience & Training

• Minimum of five (5) years of related work experience required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Leadership skills including the ability to effectively speak, present information, respond to questions, and train & mentor others

• Training and/or experience with conflict management, delegation, multi-tasking, and decision making

• Strong math, reading, and writing skills

• Ability to comprehend technical instructions/policies/procedures in written, verbal, or diagram form

• Strong computer skills

• Project management/leadership
