- Translates and reviews technical documents, online content, and business correspondence to support the accurate and efficient exchange of information using appropriate cultural relevance and etiquette.
- Reviews daily communication posted to intra-company online systems and translates relevant content related to ongoing support issues; facilitates communication.
- Proofs and assesses the quality of translation work, providing feedback as necessary to maintain translation quality and correct use of terminology.
- Works collaboratively with document authors and engineers in a development environment to drive kaizen initiatives by identifying issues and recommending process improvements.
- Contributes to and improves glossaries of product terms/technology for translations and company communications.
- Utilizes style sheets, document templates, and terminology lists effectively to translate and format content in a uniform manner that requires minimal proofing and editing.
- Understands Japanese/US localization issues and makes recommendations regarding localized content.
- May be asked to interpret for in-house meetings, video, and teleconferences.
- Trains others in areas including documentation subject matter, in-house style, and tool usage.
- Contributes to department best practices.
