QUALITYCONTROL

Laboratory Technician Assistant

$21.00 per hour

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Assist in inspection and testing processes to confirm product characteristics align with customer specifications under the guidance of the QC Lab Technician.
• Aid Operations, Quality Assurance, and Product Development during large production runs, including sample organization, performance testing, and temperature checks on lab blends.
• Be available 1-2 weekends per month for ongoing lab and production support.
• Adhere to all safety protocols, including PPE and safety checks.
• Support laboratory testing of raw materials,finished products, and production processes; prepare samples, maintain lab equipment, and ensure a clean workspace.
• Maintain adequate lab supplies and resources.
• Ensure accuracy in data reporting and uphold high standards of data integrity.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum of 2 years in a manufacturing or process control setting preferred.
• Familiarity with asphalt (roofing/paving) and process manufacturing (e.g., mixing, formulations) is desirable.
• Strong time management, multitasking abilities, mathematical proficiency, and basic computer skills, especially in Microsoft Office and Excel.
• Willingness to undertake training and development courses.
• Upon 9 weeks of training, independently perform key tests, including:
  • Cleveland Open Cup Flashpoint
  • Rotational Viscosity
  • Penetration and Softening Point Tests
  • Density and Specific Gravity
  • True Grade/Original "ODSR" Testing
