Saint-Gobain Quality Control Engineer in JONESBURG, Missouri

Join our team as a Quality Control Engineer and take the lead in ensuring top-tier product quality and process excellence at our Jonesburg facility. Duties/Responsibilities

Quality System Administration 20%

  • Oversees and/or conducts raw material, product, and process audits to ensure finished goods conform to specified requirements.

  • Manages the customer claims resolution and corrective action system.

  • Creates local documentation, such as quality manuals, procedures, and work instructions.

  • Oversees and/or initiates the development of measurement tools that enable product and process evaluation.

  • Manages the acquired process data and owns the data acquisition tools and systems

Risk Management 40%

  • Proactively plans, controls, and assures product and process quality in accordance with quality principles to eliminate potential sources of failure. This includes planning processes, material control, acceptance sampling, and measurement systems.

  • Collaborates with R&D, Manufacturing, and Marketing to ensure quality standards are integrated into new products and processes so production performance and output is to the standards required. Supports trials.

Continuous Improvement 40%

  • Defines, monitors, and analyzes quality Key Operating Indicators and coordinates the process of addressing deficiencies or deviations.

  • Provides root cause analysis and implements corrective actions for internal yield loss related to product defects in collaboration with the plant operations team.

  • Presents findings and action plans to senior management to reach solutions that improve company

  • Interaction with customers (internal and external) requires the ability to determine company responsibility and response to quality issues. Has the authority to effect settlements or other paths of action to maintain strong and responsive relations while protecting company resources.

  • Evaluate and recommend process controls to enable better measurement processes and improved product performance.

  • Ability to use metrology and statistical methods to diagnose and correct improper quality control practices and assess process performance.

  • Understanding of human factors and motivation.

  • Familiarity with quality cost concepts and techniques.

  • Knowledge and ability to develop and administer management information systems and to audit quality systems for deficiency identification and correction.

  • Designs experimental methods, conducts testing and analysis, and recommends solutions to process and product issues.

  • Analyze claims data and identify actions required to improve product and/or production performance.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Discipline

  • 3-5 years of experience in Quality Engineering, Process Engineering, and/or Production

  • Member of American Society of Quality

  • ASQ Certificate as Engineer, Auditor, or Manager

  • Ability to develop and implement quality programs, including tracking, analyzing, reporting, and problem-solving.

  • Basic understanding of the audit process, including types of audits, planning, preparation, execution, reporting results, and follow-up.

  • Strong Technical writing skills.

  • Proficient in statistical analysis of data with both Minitab and Excel.

  • Self-motivated and hands-on.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to use Microsoft Word, Access, Project, and PowerPoint.
