Position Summary:

Arkansas State University-Jonesboro, a Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) member of the Sun Belt Conference that sponsors 16 sports, seeks applicants for an Assistant Athletic Director for Facilities and Game Operations

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations and maintenance of athletic grounds, facilities, and event management

  • Maintain and review budget for athletics equipment, facilities, and maintenance

  • Develop game operation plans and resolutions for external fan management issues

  • Establish methods and organizational structure for facility and game management

  • Manage all aspects of facility management, including staffing, scheduling, budgeting, and capital projects

  • Serve as primary or secondary Event Manager for athletic and non-athletic events in athletic facilities

  • Manage scheduling and assignment of competition dates and practice time

  • Implement current and long-term plans for efficient maintenance and operation of athletic venues and capital improvement projects

  • Serve as lead representative for athletics in capital improvement projects related to athletic facilities

  • Develop cost efficiency methods and cost reduction strategies, including budget planning

  • Review procedures for equipment and facility maintenance

  • Coordinate with university's Facilities and Planning Services for updates, maintenance, and enhancements

  • Collaborate with vendors to assess bids and recommend equipment, materials, and services

  • Prioritize current and future athletic facility upgrades and designs

  • Supervise athletic facilities and game management staff, including hiring, onboarding scheduling and termination of staff.

  • Manage security during athletic events

  • Ensure compliance with department, university, conference, and NCAA regulations

  • Ensure a safe environment for students, student-athletes, and guests at venues

  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Knowledge of NCAA and Sun Belt Conference regulations specifically as they apply to institutional policies and procedures

• Familiarity with teamworks

• Ability to supervise staff.

• Proficiency in written and oral communication.

General Days/Hours:

Monday - Friday

8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Additional hours as requested and/or needed

Preferred Qualifications:

An advanced degree and experience in intercollegiate athletics at the Division I level are preferred.

Minimum Qualifications:

An earned Bachelor's Degree and knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations

3+ years of full-time experience relating to the position
