Aerotek Manual Machinist in Joliet, Illinois

Manual Machinist

Currently hiring for a manual machinist in the Joliet, IL area. Hiring immediately.

Pay: $27-$35/HR

Shift: 1st (7AM-3:30PM)

Job Description:

  • Set up and operate manual mills, manual lathes, surface grinders, and drill presses to machine and fabricate parts.

  • Performing layouts, setting up and operating conventional machine tools as required.

  • Reading and interpreting all blueprint drawings, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.

  • Designing setup methods where none exist.

  • Instructing other shop personnel on proper machining techniques.

  • Continually improving methods to deliver higher quality with improved costs.

  • Use measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges for inspections and measurements.

  • Change out and select proper tooling.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Ability to set up various machine tools.

  • Manual Machining.

  • Mills and Lathes Experience.

  • Ability to hold close tolerances and conduct component inspections.
