Summary This position is in the Professional Work Category at the Senior Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. This position is for DISA White House Communications Agency at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, D.C. This is an Excepted Service position and does not confer eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. Responsibilities Provides top management continuity to the long-range visual information systems strategy and IT policies for WHCA and VIC. Oversees all technical aspects of the WHCA Visual Information modernization and support to core operational processes through the use of technological resources. Evaluates the effectiveness of operations supervised in terms of mission accomplishment, quality and quantity standards, procedural policy and technical standards. Develops, maintains, and facilitates implementation of a sound and integrated visual information IT architecture for the Agency and will provide oversight of all applicable Visual Information Systems Security/Assurance Programs to ensure compliance. Provides advice and assistance to senior leaders on audio-visual IT acquisition and management. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below. Basic Requirements: Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study -- commercial art, fine arts, art history, industrial design, architecture, drafting, interior design, photography, visual communication, or other fields related to the position. Some positions may also require subject-matter knowledge of medicine, science, or technical equipment. Advanced training in a vocational school, technical institute, or art institute above the high school level in one of the fields listed above is creditable as general experience on a month-for-month basis. OR Experience Experience in the actual type of work for which application is made. Unpaid experience is creditable, provided the work done was of a quality level and demonstrated the ability required for the position. Experience includes planning the preparation and use of photographs, illustrations, drawings, and other art work, charts, diagrams, dioramas, maps, slides, overlays, and other kinds of visual material for use in communicating information through visual means. AND Qualifying Experience: To qualify at the GG-14, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service. For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Experience in managing and directing an audiovisual broadcast program. Candidates must describe how they meet the qualifying experience and/or selective placement factor(s) within the body of their resume. All qualifications must be met within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement. Additionally, prior to reporting for duty the selectee must be found eligible for a DoD Top Secret security clearance with access to Special Compartmented Information (SCI) based upon an Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI), AND be approved for Presidential Support Duty in accordance with Department of Defense Directive 5210.55 (Yankee White - Category II, minimum). Incumbent will be required to report to work or relocate to a new duty location, within the United States, in times of local/national emergency.
