What You'll Get To Do

Are you looking for a long-term position with a stable company? Do you enjoy working with your hands and with large equipment? Heidelberg Materials is seeking a qualified Heavy Equipment Operator . This position will be responsible for the operation of mining equipment and/or for operating quarry equipment.

  • Ensure the safe and efficient operation of heavy equipment.

  • Manage the transloading of cargoes and commodities securely.

  • Report any unsafe operations or behaviors to the production manager.

  • Conduct pre-job inspections and regular maintenance of equipment.

  • Operate equipment under varying conditions, adjusting controls as necessary.

  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by adhering to safety standards and company policies.

  • Engage in continuous learning and training opportunities.

  • Work independently, following instructions and completing tasks with minimal supervision. What We Are Looking For

  • Teamwork skills and at least 1 year of experience in a similar role, preferably in an industrial setting.

  • Knowledge of rig operations and maintenance.

  • Experience in stevedoring is advantageous.

  • Proficiency in operating heavy equipment.

  • Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a TWIC card.

  • Must pass pre-employment drug screening, physical, and background check. Work Environment:

  • Work in varying weather conditions and at different elevations.

  • Exposure to moderate to high noise levels.

  • Rotational shift work required, often exceeding twelve hours per day. Physical Requirements:

  • Physically demanding role requiring climbing, lifting (over 50 lbs. occasionally), and other physical activities.

  • Mandatory use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hats, safety vests, gloves, and steel-toe boots. Compensation and Benefits:
