As a Senior Agile Tools Solution Engineer, you will support, analyze, and configure our Agile Tools environment. This role provides critical technical expertise for enabling core Agile processes, including resource planning, capacity planning, utilization, and work management. You will collaborate with teams to evaluate business processes and procedures, contributing to functional and technical solutions, with a specific focus on IBM Targetprocess.
The Senior Solution Engineer will assist in the development and deployment of IBM (Apptio) Targetprocess, enabling enterprise planning and resource management functionality. This role will also focus on continuous improvement opportunities by offering hands-on technical support, managing system configurations, and ensuring alignment with business needs and strategy. You will identify system inconsistencies during development and configuration, assist in automation strategies, and monitor system metrics for optimization.
The Agile Tools Senior Solution Engineer must have a solid understanding of Agile delivery processes and best practices for tooling and automation strategies. As a key member of the Agile Tools team, this role will work closely with Corporate Strategy, Technology, Finance, and delivery units to enhance, fix, configure, and customize systems, including Atlassian, IBM Targetprocess, and Tableau.
You will serve as a technical lead, providing expertise, communicating issues clearly, and debugging software programs for enhancements and new technology products. What You’ll Do:
Support business stakeholders by analyzing Agile processes and configuring Agile Tools (e.g., Jira, Targetprocess, Planview, Confluence, Tableau) to meet system requirements.
Assist in managing system configurations, security settings, user management, and applications for Agile Tools.
Analyze and resolve IBM Targetprocess enhancement requests, collaborating with teams to recommend solutions.
Design custom workflows for various project types (e.g., Kanban, Scrum, SAFe), including customizing states, transitions, and rules.
Generate ad hoc reports using Apptio, SQL, Tableau, Power BI, and Excel to provide accurate and actionable insights.
Support the creation and maintenance of detailed documentation for workflows and processes.
Troubleshoot system issues and assist in implementing automation strategies for improved efficiency.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate and enhance system functionality.
Implement API integrations with tools like Jira, GitHub, Jenkins, and Azure DevOps.
Develop automation rules using built-in features to trigger actions based on events (e.g., status changes, priority updates).
Configure custom entity relationships, including parent-child links and dependencies.
Create proof-of-concept solutions and support pilots, including leading feature demos and participating in stakeholder feedback sessions
What We’re Looking For:
Agile Knowledge: Strong understanding of Agile frameworks, including Scrum, SAFe, and Kanban.
Technical Configuration Skills: Proficiency in configuring and managing Agile Tools such as IBM Targetprocess, Atlassian Suite, or Planview.
Basic Programming Knowledge: Familiarity with scripting languages such as JavaScript and Python for simple customizations.
Data Analysis: Ability to create reports using Tableau, Power BI, SQL, or Excel.
Collaboration Skills: Proven experience working with cross-functional teams to align technical solutions with business goals.
Problem-Solving Abilities: Capacity to identify and resolve system issues with practical solutions.
Adaptability: Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to evolving priorities.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in configuring and managing Agile Tools.
Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP, SAFe Agilist, or CSM) preferred but not required.

Pay Transparency
The salary range for this position is $120,000 - $140,000 per year plus an opportunity to earn an annual discretionary bonus. Actual pay is based on various factors including but not limited to the work location, and relevant skills and experience.
