As the Director of Compliance (Compliance Officer) , you are responsible for the implementation and administration of the organizational compliance program. This role will partner with various programs and departments to ensure organizational adherence to all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead the organizational compliance program including the development and implementation of policies and processes to ensure adherence to legal, regulatory, and ethical standards.

  • Routinely assess and monitor the effectiveness of the organizational compliance program, and report on the status of the program as needed.

  • Lead compliance committee(s) with a clear purpose and scope and maintain all compliance-related information.

  • Implement a monitoring and auditing system to ensure continuous compliance with legal, regulatory, and internal policies.

  • In collaboration with the training department, facilitate an effective compliance education and training program, including appropriate introductory training for new employees as well as ongoing training for employees and leaders.

  • Develop and implement an effective policy management system . E nsure policies address appropriate risks and regulatory requirements and provide clarity for expectations.

  • Lead organizational compliance efforts in collaboration with leaders to ensure compliance within their respective areas of responsibility by assisting with identifying risks and gaps, developing solutions, auditing and monitoring, and serving as a resource for compliance and regulatory issues.

  • Serve as the organization’s Privacy Officer, responding to staff inquiry, preparing educational material, investigating potential HIPAA concerns, responding to potential and actual breaches, and maintaining appropriate organizational records.

  • Establish and maintain a comprehensive process for the reporting, assessing, and remediating compliance issues and reported concerns. Oversee organizational whistleblower process.

  • Complete proactive compliance risk assessments to identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk and refer to the appropriate source for further assessment. This includes monitoring changes in regulations, laws, and guidelines.

    What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Graduate degree preferred.

  • 5 years in compliance oversight required . C ompliance experience in a healthcare environment preferred.

  • Healthcare Compliance Certification required or willing to obtain within 1 year.

  • Ability to understand and communicate effectively and professionally in reading, writing, and speaking the English language.
