Description

As the Associate Director of Development and Events, you will play an important part in enhancing and expanding ChildServe's fundraising capacity. This position is instrumental in growing our donor base, providing strategy, oversight, and leadership of signature events, and managing a diverse portfolio of donors and prospects.

What You'll Do

  • Manage a portfolio of donors and prospects, including individuals, corporations, and major and planned gifts to advance ChildServe’s mission.

  • Draft, design, and prepare proposals in collaboration with the foundation team to solicit prospective donors by matching funding opportunities with donor interests.

  • In partnership with the Director of Development and Foundation Operations, develop and implement event vision, strategy, and goals, and provide oversight of production-related activities.

  • Lead cultivation and procurement of sponsorships and provide corporate sponsor fulfillment and other event partner obligations.

  • Close out events, conduct post-event debriefs, ensure all donor information is updated in the Blackbaud/Raiser’s Edge database, and conduct any follow-up required with stakeholders.

  • Oversee and monitor budgets and forecast income and expenses for signature events.

  • Provide facility tours to individuals/groups and represent ChildServe at community functions, speaking engagements, industry associations, and community groups.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.

  • Five years of fundraising and event management experience.

  • Demonstrated track record of achievement in annual giving and major gift work, including personal visits with prospects, moves management approaches, and closing gifts.

  • Proven track record in building community partnerships.

  • Working knowledge of development best practices, trends in philanthropy, fundraising tools and technology, including donor databases, email and online campaigns, and donor research.

  • Ability to understand and communicate effectively and professionally in reading, writing, and speaking the English language.
