$83,896.00 Minimum Starting Base Pay* + KPI Bonuses + Competitive Benefits
*Qualifications may warrant greater starting base pay within the full pay range. Individual base pay is determined by experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training.
Position Summary
This position is responsible for performing routine technical work and applying established techniques and procedures to perform engineering tasks under the supervision and direction of a senior engineer in support of the Cooperative’s Strategic Initiatives
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Review and evaluate substation physical, protection and control design
Operate computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment
Prepare and study technical drawings and specifications of substation design
Perform detailed calculations to define and establish manufacturing, construction and installation standards and specifications (stated in the position summary)Confer with engineers, customers and others to discuss existing or potential engineering projects and products
Investigate customer or public complaints, determine nature and extent of problem and recommend solutions
Manage the design and construction of small substation projects
Develop new strategies to maximize the utilization of engineering design software
Study technical data to determine appropriate limits and variables for product, process or materials specifications
Research technical specifications
Review construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and customer requirements
Confer with planning for transmission system development
Prepare specifications for purchase of materials and equipment
Review and report project progress to assure projects are completed satisfactorily, on time and within budget

Perform a variety of standard engineering computations and analysis
Prepare engineering drawings, maps, and construction specifications Research material specifications and resolve basic material issues
Complete assigned tasks
Maintain the security of confidential information
Stay abreast of advances in technology
Demonstrate regular and prompt attendance
Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of using computer systems, which may include setting up and using hardware and software programs such as AutoCAD, entering data or processing information
Knowledge of technical presentations and reporting
Knowledge of construction materials and products
Knowledge of project management techniques
Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service
Skilled in time management
Skilled in prioritizing and managing changing priorities
Ability to prioritize and manage changing priorities
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing

Minimum Qualifications - (Education, Experience)
Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering field
Eighteen months of related experience and Engineer in Training Certification OR
Post Graduate Engineering degree in a related discipline OR
Four years directly related work experience
Valid Driver’s License
