The anticipated salary range for this role is between $190,000.00 and $227,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.

Role Description

We are seeking a Deposit IT Application Support / Business Analyst to focus on the business analysis and IT system analysis on technical/business demands/issues.

This role is responsible for providing support on business/IT analysis and deposit application projects and maintenance including business and IT design requirements documentation, troubleshooting business/technical issues requiring in-depth debugging and expertise in deposit and check clearing applications, user training and performing testing.

Role Objectives

  • Collaborate with project teams, business partners and IT support to define and design scope for each project.

  • Partner with business team leads to gain insight into user needs and develop a plan to improve the utility of implemented applications.

  • Advise the development team of business unit needs and advise on the creation of a roadmap for new processes and features.

  • Engage with key application users to study key business processes, and advise on building procedures to best utilize application features.

  • Perform analysis and design of business requirements and specifications.

  • Perform analysis and design of technical requirements and specifications.

  • Ensure applications meet standards and technical specifications

  • Review use cases/enhancements and plan test scenarios for an application change.

  • Documents and writes business and technical requirements, defines interface requirements, workflows and presentations. Documentation includes Project Charter, Business Requirements, IT Functional Requirements, knowledge sharing information in Confluence, backlog items in JIRA.

  • Work with Developers, QA (Quality Assurance) testers, Production Support, Infrastructure Operations, Information Security teams and project managers to support application deployments, test planning and execution in Development/QA/Release(UAT) as per criteria and testing standards.

  • Collaborate with project managers to support project tasks including requirement gathering and analysis, training and end-to end testing, providing some regular project status, and escalating issues to project managers, project stakeholders and senior management.

  • Submit Change Requests (CRs) and Single Approver Changes (SACs) in ServiceNow platform as per the SMBC/JRIA Change Management Process.

  • Review, manage and address Incident/Problem tickets and IT Service Requests opened in ServiceNow. Open an incident/problem ticket in ServiceNow for tracking purposes when an issue is found and there is no existing ticket.

  • Perform tasks in accordance with any Service Level Agreements (SLAs), security policies and security procedures.

  • Oversee support teams responding to day-to-day technical issues and manage the incident response to service outages.

  • Analyze impact of reported service issues and quickly develop remediation plans.

  • Resolve or assist in the resolution of conflicts within and between projects or functional areas and implement changes where appropriate.

Qualifications and Skills

  • 7+ years of experience in banking and technology areas including functional knowledge of commercial banking systems (i.e., DDAs, Cash Management, Nostro/Vostro treasury settlement process, SWIFT statements), check clearing and related accounting entries.

  • Strong skills and understanding in corporate deposit systems and functionalities.

  • Previous experience with FIS Profile DDA (Deposit) application preferred.

  • Strong work ethic with focus on meeting deadlines, objectives, and ability to learn new products and systems in a timely manner.

  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively and confidently with users, team members.

  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking and problem solving skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.

  • Strong skills working with MS Excel, MS Project, MS Word, MS Power Point, MS Visio, MS Teams & SharePoint, Atlassian JIRA & Confluence.

  • Bachelor's degree. Finance, Computer Science or Information Systems preferred.

  • Previous experience with Agile methodology preferred.
