Robert Half Software Engineer in Jersey City, New Jersey

Description We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our team in Jersey City, New Jersey. In this role, you will be instrumental in building and implementing large-scale applications that integrate with multiple internal and external systems. As part of our digital transformation journey, you will have the opportunity to engage with senior leadership and work closely with architects to deliver quality and scalable software solutions. This contract to hire employment opportunity offers a unique exposure to multiple frameworks and cloud technologies.

Responsibilities:

• Build and implement complex, large-scale applications capable of integrating with multiple internal/external systems.

• Lead development efforts across the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) from design and coding through to test, build, QA, deployment, and maintenance.

• Utilize your experience with cloud infrastructure to build cloud-based software solutions and support the migration of applications to the cloud.

• Collaborate with Core Platform team to build and reuse enterprise frameworks.

• Strategize and support the migration of applications to server-less architecture solutions.

• Partner with business stakeholders to translate business requirements into consumable technical stories and software solutions.

• Engage in hands-on and strategic work, diving deep into code to define system behavior and establishing technical roadmaps.

• Ensure these software solutions align with business objectives by communicating effectively with the business and senior leadership. Requirements • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java and JavaScript

• Familiarity with CSS and REST API

• Experience with Cloud Technologies and Digital Migration

• Strong understanding of databases and web app modules

• Knowledge of Microsoft software and workstation support

• Expertise in Agile methodologies and software integration

• Demonstrated customer service skills

• Excellent leadership skills and ability to work with stakeholders

• Experience with website development and digital platforms

• Familiarity with insurance industry standards and regulations

• Strong quality assurance skills

• Proficient in time management software 'About Time'

• Experience with component selection in software development

• Familiarity with various software frameworks
