KAFKA and OpenShift is highly desired.Essential Job Functions * Work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment to expertly design applications using JAVA, CAMEL and Spring Boot Microservices * Coordinate with Application developers, Architects, Product Owners, and other SMEs to design appropriate solutions for scheduled releases * Work efficiently with fellow API Developers, Team Leads, Architects to deliver features through the creation of reusable RESTful & SOAP APIs * Assist in design of APIs that meet core consistent standards * Design, Implement & Support solutions for API security, authentication, identity management, traffic management, analytics, and performance management for APIs * Build integrations with various external services based on technical specifications * Use Object-oriented Analysis & Design concepts proficiently to architect custom solutions * Use expert-level proficiency in KAFKA to design data integration patterns and solutions (Data Streaming) to ensure successful product implementations * Use experience working with AWS Glue to create, monitor and run ETL pipelines * Experience working with relational databases like PostgreSQL, mySQL, Oracle etc. in a cloud or on-premise setup * Exposure and working knowledge of NOSQL databases like MongoDB, DynamoDB * Work in a Cloud AWS platform to design Cloud-agnostic custom solutions * Expertise with programming in languages like Python, C, C# etc. is highly desirable. * Work with API Gateway, CDNs, API Performance testing, CI/CD pipelines and monitoring tools * Prepare effective test data and functional specifications * Run efficient test scripts against code to ensure quality delivery and resolve code issues with urgency QUALIFICATIONS * Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or relevant technology degree * Seven or more years of relevant architecting, engineering or software development experience using JAVA, CAMEL and Spring Boot microservices * Seven or more years of experience using Relational Databases like PostgreSQL, mySQL, Oracle etc. on a cloud and on-premise setup * Experience working with containers (Docker or similar container runtime engines) and orchestration tools (Kubernetes, OpenShift or similar) * Knowledge of OpenShift is highly desired * Ability to work with teams to move microservices to the OpenShift/OpenStack providing guidance * Experience with designing, implementing & supporting solutions for API security, authentication, identity management * Experience with Red Hat AMQ KAFKA is highly preferred * Experience working with Agile/Scrum software development life cycles * Ability to work well in a cross-functional team environment and communicate effectively up to executive level * Strong organizational, analytical, critical thinking and leadership skills Other Qualifications * Strong personal computer and business solutions software skills * Strong problem-solving skills for design, coordination and testing of applications * Good communication skills to communicate with peers, customers, support personnel, application development personnel and management * Good interpersonal skills for communicating with business unit personnel, customers and vendors * Ability to work in a team environment, creating & maintaining formal and informal networksBenefits:BCforward offers all eligible employees a comprehensive benefits package including, but not limited to major medical, HSA, dental, vision, employer-provided group life, voluntary life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, and 401k.Keywords: Java Developer, Java, SpringBoot, Camel, Postgres DB, AWS Glue, Kafka, OpenShift.About BCforward:Founded in 1998 on the idea that industry leaders needed a professional service, and workforce management expert, to fuel the development and execution of core business and technology strategies, BCforward is a Black-owned firm pTo view the full job description, click here
