JPMorgan Chase Lead Software Engineer in Jersey City, New Jersey

As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase, you are an integral part of an agile development team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.

We are looking for a Lead Software Engineers to join our talented team at Chase. The ideal candidate should possess a strong background in software development with expertise in either Go, Python or Java. This role also extensively involves working with public cloud technologies and would require the candidate to be familiar with Terraform Infrastructure as code and other related public cloud technologies, like AWS.

Job Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable cloud native software solutions using modern technology stacks to deliver highly available, performant, and resilient products.

  • Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, providing guidance and support through code reviews and educational workshops.

  • Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or breakdown technical problems

  • Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others

  • Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems

  • Leads evaluation sessions with customers and partner teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture

  • Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies

  • Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Qualifications

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience

  • Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability

  • Advanced in one or more programming language(s) including Golang, Python, Java and Typescript. - Preferably Golang and Terraform.

  • Proficiency in test automation and continuous delivery methods

  • Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle

  • Experience working in an agile environment employing software delivery practices such as CI & CD and Scrum

  • Demonstrated knowledge of software design principles and patterns as wells as experience implementing solutions using various software architectures such as modular monoliths and micro-services

  • Poses excellent problem solving, analytical and communication skills.

  • Demonstrated people leadership skills and experience leading software development projects.

  • Experience in designing and maintaining reactive/event driven architectures. (Preferred)

  • Experience in building and maintaining cloud native software solutions including advanced knowledge of managing Infrastructure as Code (Preferred)

  • Experience migrating complex applications to the public cloud (IaC developer, SRE and Acceleration roles)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in designing and maintaining Api/event driven architectures.

  • Experience in building and maintaining cloud native software solutions including advanced knowledge of managing infrastructure as code

  • Experience in Golang, Terraform and AWS.
