Citigroup IT Business Lead Analyst in Jersey City, New Jersey

Citibank, N.A. seeks an IT Business Lead Analyst for its Jersey City, New Jersey location.

Duties: Analyze user needs and develop software solutions to update software or enhance existing software capabilities. Analyze information to determine, recommend, and plan installation of a new system or modification of an existing system. Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints. Collaborate with stakeholders to clarify ambiguities or gaps in the requirements. Develop and execute testing plans. Log any discrepancies or defects found in testing. Provide input during Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) phases, including formulation and definition of systems scope, objectives and necessary system enhancements for complex, high-impact projects. Conduct business and data analysis to identify and communicate risks and impacts and propose risk mitigation options, considering business implications of application of technology to current business environment. Consult with business clients to determine system functional specifications and partner with management teams and other units to meet organizational objectives. Evaluate new IT developments and evolving business requirements and recommend appropriate systems alternatives and/or enhancements to current systems by analyzing business processes, systems and industry standards. Provide analysis to define problems, develop innovative solutions and influence strategic functional decisions. Configure SWIFT messages to handle payment instructions, ensure accurate and timely settlement of trades. Use FIX protocol to integrate into trading platforms to facilitate sending and receiving order messages. Use SQL to query database and extract specific datasets needed for reporting or analysis. Use UNIX to manipulate and process large data sets such as filtering, sorting, and transforming data before generating reports. Write software scripts using Python language to automate tasks. Use Jira and Confluence to manage book of work, streamline project management, and document processes. Use Agile methodologies for sprint planning, backlog management and tracking progress of user stories and tasks for projects. A telecommuting/hybrid work schedule may be permitted within a commutable distance from the worksite, in accordance with Citi policies and protocols.

Requirements: Requires a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering (any) or related field and 6 years of progressively responsible, post-baccalaureate experience as a Business Analyst, Project Manager, IT Lead Technical Quality Analyst or related position involving updating and enhancement of automated systems software for the financial services industry. Full span of experience must include: Business and Data Analysis; Project Management; Software Development Lifecycle; SWIFT and FIX standards; Software testing; UNIX and SQL; Automated software systems; Equities, Derivatives and Fixed Income domain software; JIRA and Confluence; Agile methodologies.
