Organization Description
The Chief Data & Analytics Office (CDAO) at JPMorgan Chase is responsible for accelerating the firm's data and analytics journey. This includes ensuring the quality, integrity, and security of the company's data, as well as leveraging this data to generate insights and drive decision-making. The CDAO is also responsible for developing and implementing solutions that support the firm's commercial goals by harnessing artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies to develop new products, improve productivity, and enhance risk management effectively and responsibly. Within CDAO, the Firmwide Chief Data Office (CDO) is responsible for maximizing the value and impact of data globally, in a highly governed way. It consists of several teams focused on accelerating JPMorgan Chase's data, analytics and AI journey, including: data strategy, data impact optimization, privacy, data governance, transformation and talent.
As an Executive Director- Data Ownership Program Lead within the Firmwide Chief Data Office (CDO), you will be responsible for building strong partnerships with senior leaders in the Chief Data Officer (CDO) organizations and will facilitate discussions on how we design, implement, and evolve the Data Ownership framework that is mandated by the firm's data risk management policy/standard. Data Owners are accountable for the oversight and governance of data risks (e.g. use, storage, protection, quality, retention, and destruction). Additionally, you will leverage those same partnerships to develop and lead additional firmwide data governance or strategic initiatives to improve data risk management.
Job Responsibilities:
Lead the roll-out of Data Owner implementation across the Lines of Business (LOBs) and Corporate Functions (CFs)
Partner with technology to build tools and capabilities to centrally track Data Owners and associated entitlements or deliverables
Analyze and enhance governing documents so that our Data Owner program provides a practical, simple, and effective framework for data management that delivers business impact
Normalize roles and responsibilities related to the Data Owner role to support the streamlining and transparency of Data Risk management oversight
Create metrics and summarized materials to support senior / executive presentations and reporting
Develop and lead firmwide data governance initiatives to improve Data Risk management
Partner with Technology, Risk, Business operations, and LOB/CF CDOs
Support regulatory, compliance, and audit requests
Deliver centralized Data Owner training program and communications created for the benefit of LOB/CF stakeholders
Mange team to support the goals of the governance program and stay informed of regulatory and industry developments impacting data governance / management
Support other Data Governance initiatives, as needed.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
10+ years of relevant experience with proven track record of strong program management delivery within a Risk Management environment
Proven leader and influencer with the ability to think on their feet
Ability to apply critical thinking and logical / structured framework to shape the program's approach
Capacity to think laterally and convey an understanding of the big picture
Outstanding analytical, written, and verb al communication skills; ability to articulate complex ideas, concepts, and solutions at the senior management level
Strong interpersonal skills; comfortable with partnering with people at all levels and across all functional areas (e.g. Legal, Compliance, Controls, Technology, and Business operations) and across stakeholders with varying needs and opinions
Ability to synthesize feedback to drive practical solutions to complex problems
Experience developing and implementing policies, standards, procedures, or guidance documents to be used by a wide range of users
Ability to work under pressure to deliver multiple business demands on -time with high quality
Ability to work through ambiguity to reach conclusions and effectively develop and lead projects / experience in project management and self-starter, able to work autonomously with discipline
Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Word and Power Point.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
Bachelor's degree required; graduate degree preferred
Understanding of the risk and control environment within JPMorgan and of the company's business practices; familiarity with the company's products and services
Knowledge of data risk management preferred
