SUMMARY


The Goldman Sachs Asset Wealth Management (AWM) Public Product Controllers group is seeking an analyst to serve as a member of the GIPS team. The team supports Marketing and Portfolio Management teams globally, providing oversight on the Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS). The GIPS standards were created and are administered by the CFA Institute to provide a consistent global framework for the calculation and presentation of investment management performance.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • GIPS Oversight: Liaise with Product Management, Portfolio Management, Marketing, Compliance, and Performance teams within AWM on matters related to GIPS compliance
  • Policies and Procedures: Document and maintain policies and procedures for GIPS oversight and ensure robust controls around composite management
  • Composite Management: Place accounts in composites based on the evaluation of investment management agreements; evaluate impact of account changes and restructurings on composite placement; review analytics around composite dispersion
  • Composite Performance: Identify exceptions and work with the Account Management and Performance teams to determine the veracity of the account performance and placement
  • Marketing Material: Support preparation of composite presentations, marketing material and Requests for Proposal responses
  • GIPS Verification: Support the annual GIPS verification and performance examinations
  • Assist with special projects and strategic process improvement initiatives

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS

  • 1-3 years of relevant industry experience with exposure to Investment Management
  • Strong academic background with a concentration in Finance/Accounting; working towards CFA, CIPM and/or CPA is a plus
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills as well as analytical and organizational skills
  • Strong work ethic with a keen attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a team environment under pressure
  • Solid PC skills, specifically Excel (macros and VBA experience is a plus)
