job summary:

An Electrical & Automation Engineer is needed for the world's largest food and beverage company in the Jefferson, WI area. The Electrical & Automation Engineer will oversee electrical, controls, and automation engineering for the expansion project, ensuring effective execution, compliance, and technical support throughout the project lifecycle.

location: Jefferson, Wisconsin

job type: Contract

salary: $53.69 - 79.46 per hour

work hours: 8am to 4pm

education: Bachelors

responsibilities:

  • Lead electrical, controls, and automation engineering for Capital Projects.

  • Work with Corporate Engineering, Factory Engineering, and 3rd party consultants.

  • Create and review power distribution diagrams, network topologies, control panel layouts, safety logic tables, and construction specifications.

  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and installation requirements.

  • Develop scopes of work and engineering project schedules.

  • Create RFPs for engineering and design services.

  • Support responses to RFIs and provide engineering support during construction and commissioning.

Skills:

  • Proficient in low voltage networking, PLC programming (Rockwell, Modicon), HMI/SCADA (iFIX, Ignition).

  • Knowledge of Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) design, NFPA 70, electrical safety, and hazardous energy control procedures.

  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams and read control schematics.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field with 5+ years of relevant experience, or

  • Associate's Degree with 7+ years of relevant experience.

  • Experience with control systems design in food, beverage, or industrial manufacturing.

  • Experience with multi-million dollar capex projects and new construction builds.
