JOB REQUIREMENTS: Essential Job Functions: Research and develop new manufacturing processes and materials Analyze existing processes and identify areas for improvement Evaluate designs and plan layout of equipment for production Conduct tests to evaluate the efficiency of processes Address issues of safety and compliance with environmental regulations Collaborate with other engineers, chemists, and production staff to ensure quality and efficiency Support ballistics testing and analysis of data from that testing Develop and maintain failure analysis procedures and approach consistent with company quality policies. Support all technical insertion activities as required and manage project implementation. Analyze all drawing and technical data specifications to assure compliance to the customer\'s requirements. Participate in weekly Integrated Product Teams (IPT) as required. Develop cost estimates for process implementation and production Document all created and modified processes Interface with all levels of the organization to complete assigned tasks. Work hand in hand with the Program Manager to complete tasks required to meet organizational objectives. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge and Skills: Four-year college degree with a preference in Mechanical Engineering or Materials Science; related science and engineering degrees will be considered. Technical skills and knowledge of engineering principles and practices to design, modify, and optimize industrial manufacturing processes. Analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and troubleshoot process-related issues and implement effective solutions. Experience in assembly process design and continuous improvements utilizing tools such as lean manufacturing and six sigma applications. Ability to work with the sub-contractors to analyze their manufacturing systems and implement changes required for end item improvements. Strong understanding of safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe and compliant working environment. Communicate and document effectively in English. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products. Ability to work with peers and supervisor employees as needed. Ability to multi-task in support of end-result/goal. Excellent organization skills including project management. Ability to set and establish priorities.
