JOB REQUIREMENTS: POSITION SUMMARY: AMTEC Corporation, a Contract Manufacturer of Mechanical and Electromechanical devices for the Department of Defense is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer. Candidate will have a BSME (preferred) and be involved in process flow layout / improvement, assess areas where product changes could be incorporated to improve product performance, assembly operations to reduce overall cost, failure analysis and preparation/revisions of Standing Operating Procedures. Must be a self-starter, possess a strong mechanical background and be able to work with minimal supervision. This is an exciting and challenging position with a full benefit package for the right candidate. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Understand the product and its intended operation (form, fit and function). Assist production, maintenance, and quality in the debug of production processes. Preparation/revisions of Standing Operating Procedures (SOP\'s). Monitor and analyze production processes to improve performance, efficiency, and reduce reject rates. Support resolution of technical issues, and report on all current technical issues and status during weekly meetings and / or management reviews. Execute Failure Analysis efforts related to production issues, performance issues, and critical characteristics. Generate Requests for Process Change forms and manage them through the approval process. Main internal technical point of contact for assigned programs. Coordinate with Quality Engineering to define process control (including SPC) requirements for production processes. Participate in risk assessment for production operations. Participate in Build Readiness Reviews (BRR\'s), Test Readiness Reviews (TRR\'s) and Production Readiness Reviews (PRR\'s). Participate in line set-up including layout, flow, equipment, storage, etc. Build and analyze test samples to understand design margin and/or variation in product performance. Support Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) for assigned programs. Build pre-FAAT and/or pilot and/or engineering test samples Support customer technical requests and questions; provide resultant effects to production processes and performance Support / assist Quality and Purchasing in resolution of supplier issues Support identification of Key Characteristics and Key Process Parameters for assigned programs. Drive production daily rate improvement / areas that constrain meeting monthly requirements. Do constraint analysis to identify pacing operations. Must be able to obtain BATFE (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives) approval. Bachelor\'s degree in Engineering is preferred.
