FlexStaff is seeking an RN to work for one of our external clients, a community services non-profit organization serving people with developmental disabilities for their residential programs, located in Jamaica, Queens, NY.
This is a permanent, full-time job with every other rotating weekends.
Available shifts:
4pm-12am
12am-8pm
In this role you will be responsible for providing direct care nursing services for individuals with developmental disabilities who reside in the program.
An ideal candidate would be a graduate of an accredited program of professional nursing and have a valid license and current registration as a Registered Nurse in the State of New York.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Provide direct nursing care/ services to assigned individuals as presented in the areas of health maintenance, nutrition, activities of daily living, and the treatment and prevention of illness.
Provide first aid and emergency nursing care.
Monitor and order mediation and other pharmaceutical supplies for each individual.
Responsible for managing gastronomy tube functioning, administrating feeding and medication to all individuals who have gastronomy tubes and who requires other specialized nursing care. Follow pressure wound policy and documentation requirements.
Evaluate effectiveness of plan in meeting outcomes. Communicates outcomes to patients, families, caregivers, or service providers.
Participate as member of the interdisciplinary treatment team for the individuals on assigned caseload.
As required, prepare at minimum an annual and semi-annual nursing assessment and updating the medical information summary when necessary to present to the team.
Ensure proper documentation of care and progress of persons receiving services related to acute and chronic health problems and interventions; reviews, medication, hospitalizations, clinics, weights, and dietary concerns. Meet documentation requirement on approved electronic health record (EHR) i.e. obtaining & transcribing physicians' orders, daily nursing note, semi-annual nursing summaries, health charts, medication regimen reviews and case review summaries.

The salary range for this position is $90,000-$100,000/year
