The Public Works Department is actively seeking a Traffic Engineering Administration Manager.

This position reports directly to the Chief of Traffic Engineering. The primary function of this position is to oversee and coordinate the complex and broad variety of administrative procurement, finance, and operational support functions throughout the division.

Examples of Work

  • Coordinates procurement and contract work in progress with management personnel of other sections in the City, procurement, budget and finance.

  • Prepares and tracks bid packages for various contracts/agreements for the division.

  • Tracks contracts/agreements for compliance and expirations.

  • Maintains records and up to date information on the status of CIP traffic projects and general fund accounts.

  • Coordinates the fiscal, purchasing, and related finance functions for the entire division.

  • Schedules, assigns, reviews and evaluates the work of assigned staff and oversees work in 1Cloud along with Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.

  • Assists with the Traffic Engineering annual and strategic planning process with preparations of budget, reports and data analytics prepared for the Chief and other inter-department personnel consisting of vendor activity, PWTE expenditures, and other fiscal reporting data and planning input.

  • Operates a computer using word processing, spreadsheets and related software applications including 1Cloud and Microsoft Office applications.

  • A five (5) year combination of education and/or professional experience in budget preparation, contract compliance and other finance-related duties such as accounts payable - required.
