To continue laying the groundwork, challenge what's possible and celebrate the power of inclusion, we seek to partner with driven individuals who are ready to elevate their career with us SUMMARY:Responsible for supervising skilled and semi-skilled mechanics, utility clerks, administrative clerks, and/or third-party contractors employed to maintain and/or repair equipment at a port facility, container yard or for facilities maintenance. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Supervise the repair and maintenance of one or more of the following: refrigerated containers, diesel generators, yard tractors, power trucks, forklifts, top loaders, tank trailers, chassis, flatbeds, dry trailers, tires, power packs, dry container or facilities maintenance. Administer preventive maintenance programs and develop work schedules in coordination with equipment need at the terminal or for facilities maintenance. Normally supervise from one to twenty skilled and semi-skilled employees. EDUCATION:Associate's degree in business/related field or a combination of post high school and equal experience may be substituted for education. EXPERIENCE:4 or more years’ experience in repair and maintenance of transportation equipment or facilities maintenance. 2 - 3 years’ supervisory experience in related area. Strong technical background in repair and maintenance. Experience in industrial engineering, operations, process improvement, operations excellence or project management. TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY:Proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Outlook and Word. COMPETENCIES:Ability to apply skill sets and demonstrate proven experience developing, improving and streamlining processes to meet established goals and objectives. Ability to effectively manage projects that may vary in nature and scope. Demonstrate self-awareness (our culture thrives on positive intent, which applies to receive/giving feedback). Action oriented (you figure things out and execute. Manage ambiguity (things change; we want to know you can adapt). Collaborates (you know five heads are better than one). Nimble learning (you’re knowledgeable of a lot of subjects). OTHER:Valid Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC) credential is required. Also, subject to a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check to obtain your driving history. JOB SCOPE:Position impacts multiple business units/segments WORKING CONDITIONS:50/50 between normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and outside. May require extended use of computer keyboard and viewing of computer monitor and ability to sit for long periods of time.
