Program Summary

The Marine Corps Prepositioning Program (MCPP) is based in Jacksonville, Florida. We provide maintenance and logistic services to the U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) in support of this program. For over 35 years we have planned, coordinated, and executed the maintenance and logistic services for ground combat vehicles and support equipment for USMC Expeditionary Forces.

Job Summary

Supervises and coordinates the activities of Marine Corps Prepositioning Program (MCPP) employees performing intermodal container packing-unpacking; inventory and inspection of equipment and material; basic maintenance and preservation of equipment; and other general warehousing duties including locating, storing, organizing, inventorying, and disposing of supplies and equipment. Determines the sequence and assignment of work based on production planning guidance, and the availability of equipment, material, and resources. Inspects containerized equipment and supplies for material readiness. Identifies and coordinates requisitioning of material shortages. Inspects work performed to ensure compliance with established procedures and time schedules. Coordinates with departmental supervisors engaged in production support activities to ensure a close integration of operations and adherence to schedule. Maintains and ensures employees’ compliance with administrative policies, procedures, and government regulations. Develops, recommends changes, and ensures employees’ compliance to site-specific ISO-9001/14001 procedures and work instructions. Trains new employees in site-specific HSE policies and container production related procedures and instructions. Recommends new hire, assignments, transfers, and disciplinary action, as applicable. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Supervises and coordinates the activities of Marine Corps Prepositioning Program (MCPP) employees performing intermodal container packing-unpacking; inventory and inspection of equipment and material; basic maintenance and preservation of equipment; and other general warehousing duties including locating, storing, organizing, inventorying, and disposing of supplies and equipment.

  • Determines the sequence and assignment of work based on production planning guidance, and the availability of equipment, material, and resources.

  • Inspects containerized equipment and supplies for material readiness.

  • Identifies and coordinates requisitioning of material shortages.

  • Inspects work performed to ensure compliance with established procedures and time schedules.

  • Coordinates with departmental supervisors engaged in production support activities to ensure a close integration of operations and adherence to schedule.

  • Maintains and ensures employees’ compliance with administrative policies, procedures, and government regulations.

  • Develops, recommends changes, and ensures employees’ compliance to site-specific ISO-9001/14001 procedures and work instructions.

  • Trains new employees in site-specific HSE policies and container production related procedures and instructions.

  • Recommends new hire, assignments, transfers, and disciplinary action, as applicable.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

  • Associate degree and/or course work toward a bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, or supply chain management, or related discipline.

  • In lieu of a degree, a combination of college credits, other formalized training, and directly related work experience may be considered.

  • Eight (8) years of directly related work experience in logistics.

  • Four (4) years of supervisory experience in logistics.

  • In depth knowledge of U.S. Navy logistics systems, inventory management, procurement, item identifications, warehousing, and material handling.

  • Working knowledge of U.S. Navy Expeditionary Force Logistics and NSE or NCE Table of Allowance (TOA) equipment is preferred.

  • Familiar with Lean principles, Yellow or Green Belt certification is preferred.

  • Experience in a Collective Bargaining Agreement working environment is preferred.

  • Demonstrate satisfactory written and oral communication skills.

  • Intermediate level working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.

  • Must have a current security clearance or be able to obtain a security clearance to access government websites.

  • Must pass a background check and be able to gain access to Marine Corps Support Facility Blount Island.

  • Applicants must be a US Citizen.
