Job Title: Quality Inspector

Job Description

Perform dimensional and visual inspections of aircraft details, machine parts, and assemblies. Conduct thorough reviews of manufacturing documentation and quality records to ensure compliance with customer requirements. Work under the direction of the Supervisor, Inspection.

Responsibilities

  • Work from applicable drawings, specifications, bubble drawings, first article inspection reports, work instructions, vendor instructions, or other documentation using inspection tools and gauges.

  • Visually inspect the condition of materials and parts.

  • Utilize equipment such as calipers, micrometers, protractors, height gauges, pin gauges, dial indicators, portable coordinate measuring devices, hardness testers, conductivity meters, and various other precision measuring devices to perform simple to complex inspection operations.

  • Provide assistance to determine inspection techniques and methods for appropriate inspection applications.

  • Clearly define nonconforming conditions noting engineering requirements, “as is” condition, and variation from nominal. Prepare rejection documentation.

  • Report any unusual circumstances, conditions, or defective material to the supervisor or group leader. Participate in root cause identification and corrective action development when required.

  • Participate in company internal audits and support customer audits.

  • Comply with Quality System procedures and company policies.

  • Bring any anomalies to the attention of your supervisor.

  • Work in a cell environment and perform duties not necessarily detailed in this job description but within the scope of the current job classification.

  • Maintain records as instructed or required.

  • Perform other duties as needed.

Essential Skills

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • 3+ years of experience preferred.

  • Experience with CNC, vertical/horizontal mills, set-up, manual Bridgeport mill/lathe.

  • Quality inspection experience in manufacturing or aviation.

  • Close attention to detail.

  • Experience with measurement tools such as calipers, gauges, quality testing tools, visual inspection tools, micrometers.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Specialized skills in CMM, DQR, and NDI are a plus.

Work Environment

  • The work environment is deadline-intensive and requires overtime in most positions. The dress code includes closed-toed shoes, long pants, and t-shirts (nothing vulgar). Safety requirements include steel-toed boots, safety glasses, and hearing protection where required. The facility is very organized, clean, well-lit, and climate-controlled. All tools and measuring equipment are provided by the company.

Job Type & Location

  • This is a Permanent position based out of Jacksonville, Florida.

The pay range for this position is $41600.00 - $66560.00
