Job Description
BAE Systems Jacksonville Ship Repair is currently constructing a new 25,000 ton ship lift and associated land based drydock facility, to be operational early 2025. Due to the increased capacity and capabilities, our commercial vessel, yacht and maritime services program is growing and has a position for a highly motivated and capable Project Manager.
This position is an exciting role embedded within a small, dedicated and effective team of professionals, all extremely motivated to contribute to the future and success of the commercial vessel, yacht and maritime services program.
As Project Manager you will ensure you will manage, coordinate, plan, organize, control, integrate, and execute ship repair, maintenance and refit projects across a wide variety of contract structures and a broad customer base, which includes commercial vessel and yacht owners, operators and managers, as well as commercial adjecsent customers such as the Coast Guard, Military Sealift and others.
The Project Manager also plays an important role in the projects capture and proposal phase, which may include contributions to opportunity development, capture, strategy, estimating, schedule development and schedule reviews.
You will ensure achievement of financial, schedule, technical, and business performance objectives. You will also model and demonstrate strong leadership to superintendents and other collegues, as well as to craft and support employees supporting the execution of our projects, and act as a leader and initiators in Environmental and Safety, ensuring team compliance with all company policies.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Required Education, Experience, & Skills :
Bachelor s Degree and 6 years of experience or equivalent experience
Experience in Program/Project/Team/Task Management, Coordination, Scheduling, Planning, or similar
Experience in the Merchant navy, Maritime industry, Ship Building, Ship Repair, or similar industry
Experience in Technical Documentation: specifications, diagrams, blueprints, drawings, test procedures, Classification standards, and/or technical manuals
Knowledge of Marine Equipment and Systems
Knowledge of Shipboard Work Control Procedures, Tag-Out Procedures, and Government Work Authorization
Knowledge of Shipyard Estimating Systems
Knowledge of Commercial Contracting
Knowledge of International Standards for Organizations (ISO)
Ability to utilize PMBOK methodology for Project Management
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage changing demands in a fast-paced environment
Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

Technical Degree a plus
Professional Certification (PMP), or about to obtain is a plus
Experience in Program/Project Management a plus
Experience in Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) a plus
Experience in Process Improvement utilizing Value Stream Mapping, LEAN, or 5S a plus
Experience in leading project teams to improve knowledge and skills a plus
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $83900 - $142600
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
