GE Aerospace Maintenance Planner and Scheduler in Jacksonville, Florida

Job Description Summary

The Maintenance Planner and Scheduler is responsible for coordinating and scheduling preventative maintenance, and spare parts inventory control for a matrixed team of qualified trade professionals and other resources for enhancing business growth by maintaining world-class manufacturing and test equipment, buildings and campus for customers and employees. This role leverages a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to achieve these goals and is responsible for its accuracy.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

Key Facility Maintenance Planner/Scheduler Responsibilities:

  • Drive customer service and work completion based on priorities set by customers (main focus of Maintenance is Manufacturing related to safety, throughput equipment, lean manufacturing projects, PMs, improvement projects and administrative area moves).

  • Serves as the site focal for the CMMS System (Maximo)

  • Responsible for scheduling maintenance of all mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems

  • Responsible for ensuring parts are available for scheduled work orders

  • Maintain and generate procedures for preventative maintenance and work tasks

  • Providing strong individual contributions in the context of achieving team goals

  • Coordinate maintenance of facilities fleet and equipment such as vehicles, fire protection, elevators, water, compressed air, and outside grounds (landscaping, sidewalk and pavement repairs, etc)

  • Plan, schedule, forecast, and balance department workload

  • Providing technical assistance by telephone or in person to internal clients, trade personnel, or contractors

  • Manage and maintain company documentation of PMs for audit review

  • Improve base costs including asset energy cost reductions

  • Support the required EHS Element programs

  • Report on maintenance accomplishments in the areas of safety corrective actions and improvements, PMs, repair work orders, and improvement projects

  • Other projects as assigned

Quality Specific Goals:

  • Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines, if applicable

  • Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required.

  • Knowledge of GE Aerospace Facilities and Maintenance Procedures & Policies and operate within them to ensure that all equipment & related documents are in compliance

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in Maintenance Planning/Scheduling and/or Manufacturing).

Desired Characteristics

  • Previous work experience in Manufacturing environment, Project management and/or Facility Management

  • Power distribution, HVAC and fire protection systems experience

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, acknowledge, develop, communicate & implement strategies in a matrix team environment

  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written

  • Proven ability to be a successful change agent

  • Working knowledge of CMMS (Maximo), Excel, Word, Power Point, Teams, etc.

  • Experience with Maximo Application Suite (MAS)

  • Experience with building Job Kits

  • Six Sigma BB or MBB Certified

  • Demonstrated collaboration, negotiation & conflict resolution skills
