We are currently looking for a Design Technician II to join our Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) Operating Unit (OU) in our Jacksonville, Florida location. Be a part of designing a comprehensive portfolio of proven, powerful ENT technologies, setting the highest standards of integrity and reliability. This position will work a hybrid schedule with three days a week onsite and two days remote.

A Day in the Life

In this exciting role as a Design Technician II , you will work under limited supervision to assist Engineering with drafting and development of components, product drawings, and manufacturing fixtures for ENT medical devices using Computer Aided Design (CAD), including 3D modeling. You will communicate with R&D, Marketing, Manufacturing, Engineering, and suppliers.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Design and draft accurate scale layouts of parts, assemblies or devices using 2D and 3D CAD techniques.

  • Develop prototypes, specifications and drawings for new products, components, and medical device concepts.

  • Develop verification/validation units for testing activities.

  • Communicate directly with other departments to create or revise engineering/manufacturing documentation.

  • Research and provide concepts, ideas, and solutions to challenging medical device needs.

  • Work independently while following verbal instructions to deliver complete device components and assemblies of functional medical devices for engineering review.

  • Comply with the Medtronic Xomed Quality System.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience and may require vocational or technical education or certification in addition to prior work experience

Nice to Have

  • Associates Degree in a relevant technical discipline, or diploma from a technical trade school, or equivalent experience

  • Experience with AutoCAD and Creo Parametric

  • Experience with component, packaging, and labeling drawings

  • Experience with 2D drawing and 3D modeling applications

  • Experience using various measurement equipment (i.e., calipers, micrometers, gauges, optical comparator)

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
