Kemper is growing and seeking an experienced technical Business Systems Analyst to work on IT projects supporting business initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Liaison with the business for IT portfolio coordination.

  • Perform systems analysis and development of technical design documents.

  • Research and develop functional design documents.

  • Outline detailed application testing and support user acceptance testing.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert within a specific scope.

  • Lead complex change management activities, including: Training (e.g., training plans and materials, training sessions), process improvements and efficiencies, documentation support (e.g., operational procedures, troubleshooting guides), production readiness activities (e.g., war room, deployment support and checkout, customer support).

  • Lead analysis, design, implementation, and testing of configuration.

  • Advanced knowledge of systems development lifecycle activities

  • Maintains knowledge of business functionality and technical platforms as business climate and technology platforms evolve.

  • Performs procedural duties within standardized practices, where applicable.

  • Complies with and supports all corporate, department and security policies and procedures.

  • Support high level estimation and design during Ideation.

  • Provide oversight of small work requests.

  • Mentors BSA group to improve overall level of performance.

  • Coordinate production activities such as: Triage, troubleshooting, data analysis, product and compliance requests

Qualifications

  • 8 years of technical business system analyst experience required.

  • Strong testing and production support background is needed.

  • Advanced knowledge of systems development lifecycle activities

  • Property and Casualty insurance industry experience is a plus.

  • Must be proficient with business analysis including: Creation of workflows, documenting of use cases and business requirements documentation, test cases and data analysis.

  • Requires strong design experience – including functional requirements documentation, test cases, requirements coverage.

  • Background working with Agile and waterfall methodologies, Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)

  • Experience with SQL, AWS, XML, JSON, JIRA, Confluence, HP ALM, ServiceNow, Excel, Postman, PowerPoint, Visio/Drawio

  • Education equivalent to a college degree in an information technology related or business administration related discipline, supplemented by insurance or computer-related courses/knowledge, or the equivalent in related work experience.

The range for this position is $86,200 to $143,600. When determining candidate offers, we consider experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location among other factors. This job is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and Kemper benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision, PTO, 401k, etc.)
