The Position:
Key responsibilities include:
- Understanding and gathering business requirements, aligning them with SAP capabilities, and identifying potential solutions.
- Developing SAP solution designs that meet business needs, including the selection of appropriate SAP modules, configuration, and customizations.
- Providing technical guidance to develop teams, ensuring that SAP solutions are implemented correctly and according to best practices.
- Determining when and how to customize SAP applications to align with specific business processes while maintaining future upgradeability.
- Defining data models and structures within SAP systems, ensuring data consistency, integrity, and quality.
- Optimizing SAP solutions for performance, scalability, and resource utilization, including database tuning and system monitoring.
- Creating detailed functional documentation, including system architecture diagrams, configuration guides, and process flows.
- Acting as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, translating business needs into technical solutions and vice versa.
- Assisting in change management efforts to ensure smooth transitions to new SAP solutions and processes.
- Staying updated on SAP technology advancements and best practices, and recommending enhancements and optimizations to existing SAP solutions.
- Ensuring that SAP solutions comply with relevant industry standards and regulations, such as GDPR, SOX, or industry-specific requirements.
- Providing expert-level support for diagnosing and resolving complex SAP system issues.
Desired Education/Experience/Skills:
- Preferred (not required) Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Experience working with SAP Extended Warehouse Management and/or SAP Transportation Management.
- Proven track record of successfully architecting and implementing SAP projects from conception to completion.
- Understanding of Manufacturing or Supply Chain processes and best practices.
- Hands-on experience integrating SAP systems with other enterprise applications, middleware, and data sources.
- Strong technical background in SAP technologies, database management (e.g., SAP HANA), and programming languages (e.g., ABAP).
- Solution Architecture: Proficiency in designing end-to-end SAP solutions, including system architecture, data modeling, and integration strategies.
- Strong technical skills in SAP configurations, customizations, and development (e.g., ABA coding).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to identify and resolve technical challenges.
- Proficient in creating comprehensive technical documentation for SAP solutions.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and departments, fostering teamwork and alignment.
- A deep understanding of business processes and the ability to align SAP solutions with business objectives.
- Operational experience in warehouse management, logistics, transportation, supply chain or manufacturing (desired, not required).
- Experience working with the Department of Defense or other Federal Agencies (desired, not required).
