Position Summary:

We're looking to add a Data Visualization Specialist to the C5MI team! In this role, you will be responsible for transforming complex data sets for C5MI and C5MI clients into compelling visual representations such as charts, graphs, maps, and dashboards. You will use software and tools, along with your eye for aesthetics, to design, develop, and implement visualizations that leaders and clients can use to make informed decisions. You will also develop and maintain data visualization tools and platforms to enhance data-driven decision-making processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinates requirements for visualization and reporting products with both internal and client stakeholders to ensure that the information summaries and key insights are rendered in a way that ensures the data is easily understandable and suitable to the purpose of the decision-making and strategic planning.
• Transforms data sets, quantitative, and qualitative analysis into compelling visuals.
• Integrates data visualizations into reports, including charts, graphs, tables, and other formats that support the audience to which the data is presented.
• Develops automated processes for recurring reports to regularly update the visualizations with the latest data, ensuring that executive-level leadership always has access to current information.
• Ensures visualizations are designed to highlight key metrics, trends, and insights that are critical for strategic planning and decision-making.
• Works closely with executive leadership and other stakeholders on ad-hoc requests to understand their specific needs and question and then quickly and efficiently analyzes the relevant data and creates tailored visualizations that address their queries and provide actionable insights for specific engagements, events, briefings, or meetings. This may also involve creating custom dashboards or interactive reports that allow leaders to drill down and explore the data in more detail and in an interactive way.
• Designs visualizations using advanced data visualization tools to highlight key metrics, trends, and insights that are critical to understanding the data, which may include creating bar charts to show comparisons line graphs to show trends over time, and tables to present detailed numerical data.
• Works closely with the report authors to ensure that the visualizations align with the narrative and objectives of the reports to ensure the visualizations effectively communicate the intended message and support the overall analysis.
• Ensures that visualizations are not only accurate and informative but also visually appealing and easy to understand, making them more impactful and useful for decision-making and strategic planning.
• Ensures all visualizations and reports are accessible and meet compliance requirements.
• Stays up to date with the latest trends and technologies in data visualization and analytics.

Required/Desired Qualifications:

Education, Training, and Experience:

• Bachelors degree in statistics, mathematics, computer science, business analytics, or a related field.
• Must have at least 5 years of relevant experience across both COTS and custom developed user interfaces for data visualization; in developing visualizations to manipulate complex data sets in simple, intuitive, and interactive formats; and independently designing and developing data visualizations to provide actionable insights for addressing strategic and tactical mission objectives.
• Must have at least 5 years of experience with custom-developed visualizations using D3, HTML, JavaScript, etc., and with COTS enterprise data visualization tools (e.g., Qlik).
• Must have at least 5 years of experience in creating medium complexity queries and stored procedures to deliver dynamic data visualizations.
• Experience with data analysis and visualization tools, such as Tableau or Power BI.
• Must possess IT-III security clearance or have a current National Agency Check with written inquiries (NACI) by start date.
