Primary Function

As an Art Director you will work in a team environment to create visual experiences that delight clients while achieving business results in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for projects from concept through design execution for both print and interactive digital outputs. You understand and adhere to the brand identity and know when to push the limits while exploring a variety of approaches that answer the client’s assignment. As an art director, you’ll be collaborating with creative directors, writers, production managers, art buyers and account leads, as well as other art directors to align efforts and meet scheduling expectations. Your goal will be to deliver solid solutions for products and services across a diverse mix of work in line with the strategies.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Build strong collaborative relationships with a diverse agency team as well as segment, channel and brand partners.

  • Push your craft, continuously improve your skillset, and lead innovation and fresh approaches in concepting through design execution.

  • Share your ideas and demonstrate clear thinking. Communicate what the client experience will be, understand message hierarchy, and adhere to project workflow processes to avoid risk.

  • Actively participate in design meetings and critiques, ensuring adherence to standards while exploring possible refinements through reasonable exceptions.

  • Embrace a remote work environment while maintaining collaboration with teammates and partners in various locations.

  • Work primarily on Mac but also be able to test files on PC.

  • Have expert skills with image retouching in Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom.

  • Be able to work with PowerPoint to create dynamic, engaging presentations.

  • Use MS Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Skills & Qualifications

  • The ability to conceptualize and collaborate with a creative team to create fully integrated human experiences and develop marketing materials that are effective and motivate the audience.

  • The ability to interpret and implement brand expression.

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite with an emphasis on InDesign, Photoshop, Lightroom and Illustrator.

  • Proficiency developing interactive digital outputs created in INDD and PowerPoint.

  • Proficiency designing print file production for high-end printing, to large-format event display signage.

  • Have an understanding and proficiency in designing and file prep for ADA accessibility and standards for WCAG 2.0 (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines).

  • An enthusiastic approach with a positive attitude and are a highly motivated self-starter with a strong work ethic.

  • Show the flexibility to fulfill design, execution, and file preparation across a variety of outputs from event signage, digital displays, interactive PDFs and print advertising.

  • The ability to establish job specifications and conform to project scope and budget parameters.

  • Organization skills to maintain job folders, assets, and other project-related documentation.

Education & Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent education in design and art direction.

  • 3-5+ years of experience as a designer or art director in an agency environment.
