Large utility is looking for a Engineer III in Jackson, MI. This position is responsible for identifying and scoping civil engineering design and construction needs for projects, providing technical leadership, and ensuring effective communication and collaboration while working in a heavy industrial environment. responsibilities:

• Identify and scope the civil engineering design and construction necessary to complete projects.

• Contract engineering services to fulfill the project scope.

• Provide engineering review and technical leadership throughout the project.

• Assist the Project Manager in contracting construction services.

• Complete closeout activities, including record drawings and test records.

• Regularly update the supervisor on project status and risks related to scope, quality, cost, and schedule.

Technical Skills:

• Working knowledge in civil design areas such as site design, stormwater management, pre-engineered metal building design, foundation design, storage tank design, and environmental permitting (wetlands, soil erosion, culverts, etc.).

• Experience in coordinating and developing contract documents, including engineering drawings and technical specifications.

• Familiarity with Civil/Structural codes, including IBC/MBC, AISC Steel Construction Manual, ACI 318, AWS D1.1, and ASCE 7.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program in Civil Engineering.

• Professional Engineer (PE) designation preferred.
