Apicha Community Health Center Dental Office Specialist in Jackson Heights, New York

Position Summary:

We're looking for a committed, passionate and professional Dental Office Specialist for our Jackson Heights location. The ideal candidate will be responsible to schedule appointments, register patients, verify insurance, pre-authorizations and follow-up on dental inquiries.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Customer Service/Administration - greet all patients and provide basic orientation to the center and all available services.

  • Referral/Emergency Referrals - create and submit referral form to all dental insurances.

  • Assist billing department - verify Explanations of Benefits and Claims.

  • Training - keep an updated list of the dental insurance contact information.

  • HEDIS and QUARR Report - overview report for the dental site.

  • UDS Report - follow up UDS report for the dental site.

    Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent with 2 years of working experience required. Some college education with 1 year of working experience preferred.

  • Experience in hospital or community health center preferred

  • Bilingual preferred (Spanish, Hindi, Bangla, Urdu)

  • Knowledge of eClinicalWorks EMR is preferred.

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos

  • Ability to communicate dental procedures and terminology with dental team and patient

  • Engaged in learning and continuous quality improvement

  • Excellent customer service skills are required

  • Responsive and comfortable working in the fast-paced, high accountability environment.

  • Demonstrated commitment to professional development.

  • Ability to sit in front of computer long hours required.

  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
