Ithaca College ASSISTANT PROFESSOR - MEDIA LAW in Ithaca, New York
The Ithaca College Roy H. Park School of Communications invites applications for a tenure-eligible Assistant Professor appointment in Media Law beginning Fall 2025 in Ithaca, NY. This position joins the Department of Media Arts, Sciences, and Studies Department (MASS) with 40+ full-time faculty dedicated to teaching excellence who offer 4 degree programs for nearly 1000 majors, along with 5 minors. The Park School is housed in a state-of-the-art facility with a $5M inventory of film and digital media portable equipment, multiple studio spaces, and cutting-edge technologies including an LED surround wall for virtual production.
Primary responsibilities include teaching classes in media law for students enrolled in majors across the School of Communications and also for students enrolled in Legal Studies. Specific content courses in media law (Copyright, Intellectual Property, Entertainment Law, Media Contracts, etc.) may be offered based on areas of expertise and student need.
The successful candidate will teach a full course load per academic year, act as an academic advisor for students, and serve on Department, School, and College committees. There is an also an expectation of research and/or creative work. Successful candidates will demonstrate an ability to teach in ways that value the varied learning needs and interests of a culturally diverse student population, and that reflect a commitment to encouraging success in all students.
Qualifications: An advanced degree in law and/or mass communications with related experience is required. PhD and/or JD is preferred.

Hiring Range: $61,000-$63,500 , dependent on discipline, qualifications and experience.
