In this job, you’ll be responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of products and services focused on customer-owned generation, customer-owned storage, and renewable tariffs. The Customer Generation, Senior Manager provides strategic oversight on products and services from development to ongoing operations across a wide portfolio of programs and processes. This position is responsible for customer engagement and experience with customer generation processes. In addition, this position leads continuous improvement initiatives across multiple departments and ensures regulatory compliance across existing products and services. As a result, this position requires significant collaboration and coordination with large cross-functional teams, made up of key members across Customer Service, Transmission & Distribution, Engineering, Enterprise Risk, Regulatory Affairs, Law, and IT.   • This position oversees Managers, as well as Individual Contributors, with a significant budget across multiple funding sources.

  • Establishes vision, mission, and tactical goals across an expanding portfolio of Customer Generation products and services:

  • Renewable Tariffs: Net Energy Metering, Solar Billing Plan, Green Rate programs, Community Renewables, Option R

  • Incentive Programs: Self Generation Incentive Program, Solar on Multifamily Affordable Housing, Disadvantaged Communities - Single-family Solar Homes, New Homes Energy Storage Pilot, Microgrid Incentive Program, and other new programs

  • Request for Offers and execution of contracts supporting our programs

  • Responsible for operational decisions which impact billing, interconnection, and customer contact processes across this portfolio of products and services.

  • These decisions often leverage governance structures and processes led by this organization, which engage various levels of senior and executive management across the company.

  • Often final decisions are held with this position for this portfolio of products and services.

  • Significant support for corporate strategy and planning efforts through on-going engagements with regulatory and policy driven organizations.

  • Engaging externally with developers, customers, and Consumer Affairs to resolve customer escalations and incorporate process improvements to mitigate similar future issues

  • Responsible for the development and implementation of education and outreach initiatives in partnership with the Customer Experience team across this portfolio of products and services, focused on operational and service excellence.

  • Significant support for corporate media and branding efforts through on-going engagements with Corporate Communications.

  • Regular updates to the executive management across the company by providing information to drive strategic direction, policy, and legislation.

The essentials

  • Must have five or more years of experience managing, supervising or leading a team or equivalent project management experience leading a cross-functional initiative.

The preferred

  • Master’s degree preferred

  • Experience working in regulated industries or environments, including supporting regulatory proceedings.

  • Demonstrated experience with driving large and complex projects that span multiple functions

  • Strong leadership, communication, presentation, and negotiating skills to build consensus with collaborators to develop and maintain partnerships with support organizations and senior management/executives.

  • Experience managing managers and/or supervisors.

  • Knowledge of interconnection (e.g. Net Energy Metering, Rule 21/WDAT) processes, requirements, market space, and policy challenges.

  • Lean Six Sigma Certification

  • Product Management and evaluation experience.

  • Must be proficient with project management tools such as Microsoft Project or Microsoft Office.

  • This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
