Hub International Tax and Licensing Coordinator in Irving, Texas

General Description (SUMMARY, Scope, Purpose)

Responsible for ensuring full compliance with state and federal regulations related to tax reporting and insurance licensing. Maintaining a deep understanding of each state's unique regulations, coupled with meticulous preparation and management of tax filings and insurance licenses, while upholding the highest standards of quality control and process integrity.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare and file taxes in accordance with state and federal regulations.

  • Coordinate and manage all tax filings and licenses within the HFS umbrella.

  • Maintain organized and detailed documentation for all tax filings and licensing activities.

  • Monitor changes in the tax and licensing regulations and ensure compliance with all updates.

  • Conduct regular audits of surplus lines tax filings and licensing records to ensure accuracy and compliance.

  • Assist in the preparation of internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and information.

  • Prepare and distribute regular reports on surplus lines tax payments, outstanding liabilities, and licensing status.

  • Provide support to Product Services Manager and Director for various tasks and special projects, as needed.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.

  • Effective self-management and organization skills, able to deliver on priorities and meet deadlines.

  • Ability to effortlessly pivot from self-guided work to support role in a fast-paced team environment.

  • Advanced Excel skills (i.e. complex formulas).

  • Able to debug/code difficult functions/macros using VBA.

  • Ability to normalize complex data/define referential integrity in Access.

  • Ability to programmatically manipulate worksheet and cell properties using VBA.

  • Must possess problem solving skills and be proactive in researching solutions.

Working Conditions:

  • Normal office environment with little exposure to dust, noise, temperature and the like.

  • Extended viewing of multiple CRT screens simultaneously.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2-3 years of related insurance industry experience.

  • Knowledge of administrative functions within insurance industry, preferably broker, carrier, or state reporting.
