Position Summary:

Responsible for designing, implementing, and managing an organization's overall data architecture, including defining how data is stored, accessed, integrated, and secured across various systems, while also setting data governance standards, evaluating new technologies, and providing technical guidance to data engineering and analytics teams; essentially acting as the lead architect for all data related infrastructure within a company

Key responsibilities of a Senior Data Architect:

Data Architecture Design and Strategy:

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive data architecture strategy aligned with business objectives.

  • Design and implement database models for optimal data storage and retrieval.

  • Define data integration patterns and processes for data flow across different systems.

  • Evaluate and recommend new data technologies and tools to enhance data architecture.

Data Governance and Compliance:

  • Establish and enforce data governance policies, standards, and best practices.

  • Ensure data quality by defining data validation rules and implementing data cleansing processes.

  • Monitor data usage and access controls to maintain data security and privacy.

Technical Leadership and Collaboration:

  • Provide technical guidance and support to data engineers, analysts, and other stakeholders.

  • Lead data architecture projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement data solutions.

  • Review and approve data architecture designs and implementation plans.

Performance Optimization and Monitoring:

  • Identify areas for improvement.

  • Analyze data usage patterns and optimize data storage and access strategies.

  • Troubleshoot data related issues and resolve performance bottlenecks.

Required Skills, Experience, and Abilities:

Technical Expertise:

  • Deep understanding of database technologies (relational, NoSQL, data warehousing)

  • Proficiency in data modeling, data integration tools, and data warehousing concepts

  • Familiarity with cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)

  • Knowledge of data security practices and compliance regulations

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical data architecture solutions

  • Leadership and mentoring skills to guide junior data architects and engineers

  • Ability to read and interpret applicable documents, materials, policies, procedures, etc. as presented in English
