The Opportunity
Our Diagnostics business currently has an opportunity for a Software Systems Supervisor in our Irving, TX location . The Software Systems Supervisor will be responsible for routine supervision and application of advanced engineering and/or integration and scientific principles to evaluate and provide solutions to technical problems. Oversees and may initiate the planning, organizing, performing, coordinating and/or directing of engineering and/or integration work. Identifies and routinely uses the most effective, cost efficient and best practices to execute processes, and continually evaluates their effectiveness and appropriateness.
What You’ll Work On
Develop and execute project and process plans, implement policies and procedures, and get organizational/team goals. Accountable for managing resources assigned to project tasks.
Translate goals into the day-to-day activities necessary to accomplish them. Develop contingency plans to accommodate unplanned events.
Responsible for supervising, developing, and motivating direct reports, provides technical guidance and functional management to support improvement initiatives in system, designs, methods, etc
Ensure supervisory direct reports understand their jobs and how they will be measured against performing their jobs satisfactorily.
Identify and ensure appropriate utilization of personnel resources and tools needed for activity/project.
Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct supervisory reports.
Disseminate corporate, division, R&D Core, and site-related information to supervisory direct reports. Maintain compliance with regulatory agencies, quality system and project goal, ensures necessary documentation is in place to meet quality and regulatory requirements.
Ensure continual improvement in the productivity of supervisory direct reports and cross-functional teams, both on long-term projects as well as from project to project.
Creating a work environment that achieves program/project objectives and supports cross-functional effectiveness by partnering with multiple groups/functions within the organization. Inclusive of but not limited to Software, Hardware, Reagents, Verification, Engineering, Operations, Quality, Project Management, Third-Party Manufacturers (TPM), etc.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) or closely related discipline.
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience,
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in defining and refining system requirements and design specifications. Knowledge of Systems Engineering Principles and concepts.
Experience developing and executing test plans/protocols, V&V activities, and analyzing test reports.
Advanced experience in designing and developing complex software systems.
Ability to provide guidance to junior team members.
Advanced knowledge in modern programming languages such as C/C++/C# or Python & Agile methodologies.
Advanced level of understanding of test-driven methodologies.
Advanced level of knowledge with continuous integration & continues development (CI/CD)
Demonstrated success in technical proficiency, creativity, and independent thought.
Advanced level of understanding of design patterns.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills

The base pay for this position is $83,000.00 – $166,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
