Role: Senior Network Engineer (F5 Load Balancing)

Location: Irving TX, or Charlotte NC

Term: 12-24 Month Contract

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced F5 Load Balancer Network Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will have over 3 years of hands-on experience with F5 load balancing technologies, including LTM, GTM, ASM, and APM. The role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining network load balancing solutions that ensure the availability, reliability, and security of enterprise-level applications. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to optimize network performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure seamless integration with other network components.

Key Responsibilities :

Design and Implementation:

• Develop and implement F5 load balancing solutions using F5 BIG-IP modules, including LTM, GTM, ASM, and APM.

• Collaborate with network architects and application teams to design scalable and resilient network solutions.

• Create and maintain F5 iRules and automation scripts for load balancing and traffic management.

Configuration and Maintenance:

• Configure and manage F5 BIG-IP appliances, including upgrading and patching software as necessary.

• Monitor load balancer performance and ensure optimal operation.

• Implement and manage SSL offloading, HTTP compression, and other F5-specific optimizations.

Troubleshooting and Support:

• Provide Level 2/3 support for network-related incidents, including identifying, diagnosing, and resolving issues related to F5 load balancers.

• Work with other IT teams to resolve connectivity and performance issues.

• Perform root cause analysis for network outages and provide recommendations for improvements.

Security and Compliance:

• Implement security policies on F5 devices to protect against threats, including DDoS attacks.

• Ensure compliance with industry standards and internal security policies.

• Regularly audit F5 configurations and apply necessary updates to maintain compliance.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Maintain detailed network documentation, including configuration settings, network diagrams, and operational procedures.

• Provide regular status updates and reports on network performance and incidents.

• Document troubleshooting steps and solutions for knowledge sharing.

Qualifications:

• This position is for a Load Balancing Network Engineer. We are looking for candidate with 3+ years of F5 experience and/or experience with AVI(NSX Smart Load balancer)

• 3+ years Load Balancing experience. F5 Big IP and/or AVI NSX Smart Load balancer

• 3+ years general network infrastructure experience

• Python scripting experience is a plus.
