Job Description

Summary

Responsible for managing benefits processes and timelines, compliance requirements, benefits billing and reconciliation, and wellness programs. Builds strong relationships with all benefit vendors and carriers. This position is a vital partner in the day-to-day oversight of the benefits. This position provides excellent customer service to our team members.

Job Duties

  • Assist with design, implementation, and day-to-day administration of benefit programs, including health & welfare benefit plans, 401(k) plan, and other employee services.

  • Support annual benefits open enrollment planning and execution. Help develop effective communication strategy to educate employee population.

  • Advise and counsel employees and dependents on day-to-day benefit-related questions (via email, phone, walk-ups, and drop-in sessions).

  • Partner with Finance, Payroll, HRIS, Legal, and vendors to effectively and efficiently perform all aspects of benefit program management, including ensuring accuracy of benefit deductions and streamlining current processes and procedures to ensure proper data flow to relevant parties.

  • Assist with provider premium billing statements including invoice reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies.

  • Share responsibility for conducting new associate benefit orientations and supporting other benefit programs.

  • Execute duties following established policy and procedure. Oversee highly confidential employee data in accordance with established policy and procedure.

  • Keep abreast of policies, legislative changes, and legal requirements, such as ERISA, HIPAA, and the Affordable Care Act to assist with plan compliance efforts.

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned, including but not limited to: Company wellness initiatives and employee services, ACA 1095s, Compliance, & Dashboards.

Education and Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s in human resources or related field preferred.

  • Four (4) years of benefits administration experience.

  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Exceptional organization skills, and decision-making skills, especially under stressful, demanding situations.

  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and successfully execute tactics.

  • Proven initiative-taker who consistently meets any challenge.

  • Flexibility and ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines, and juggle multiple projects at once.

  • Strong communication skills, including verbal, non-verbal, written and presentation skills.

  • Working knowledge and understanding of HIPAA, ERISA, Section 125, ACA and COBRA.

  • Experience with Workday is preferred.

  • Must be able to effectively adapt to changing and new priorities.
