Job Summary and Qualifications

The RN Lactation Consultant is responsible for integrating, maintaining, and operating computer and audio-video (AV) technology. This includes manikin and surrounding simulation lab equipment. The Medical Simulation Specialist plays an essential role in facilitating medical simulation for the division.

What you will do in this role:

• You will monitor and ensure simulation- and education-based technologies are maintained to ensure minimal downtime.

• You will assess and remedy equipment failures in a timely fashion.

• You will evaluate simulation- and education-based technology results to identify opportunities for improvement in internal or external customer satisfaction and/or patient experience.

• You will operate and assist with the simulators and task trainers for all types of training sessions.

• You will provide orientation, consultation, and support for simulation laboratory procedures. This will include the location and use of materials and operation of equipment.

• You will identify performance opportunities or training needs related to clinical simulation. You will provide coaching, development, and training to improve performance.

What qualifications you will need:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

• Intl Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) must be obtained within 60 months of employment

• Neonatal Resuscitate must be obtained within 90 days of start date

• Registered Nurse

• Associate Degree
