Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lead DevOps Engineering Consultant to join our team. In this role, you will collaborate with various teams to enhance and mature their infrastructure engineering practices using modern DevOps methodologies. Your primary focus will be on partnering with teams to develop and deliver training content, build development environments, and demonstrate the value of advanced DevOps practices. This role aims to prove the impact of this coaching and mentoring, potentially leading to the expansion of the coaching team to upskill the entire organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Team Integration & Collaboration: Engage with cross-functional teams to assess their current infrastructure engineering practices and identify areas for improvement through modern DevOps approaches.

• Coaching & Mentoring: Provide hands-on coaching and mentoring to teams, focusing on DevSecOps, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD, and cloud technologies.

• Content Development & Delivery: Partner with teams to create and deliver comprehensive training content on DevOps tools and practices, including setting up and managing development environments.

• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Implementation: Guide teams in implementing and optimizing IaC using Ansible and Terraform to streamline infrastructure management.

• CI/CD Pipeline Management: Assist teams in the setup, optimization, and management of CI/CD pipelines using tools like Artifactory and other industry-standard solutions.

• Code Management Support: Provide expertise in code management practices using GitHub, ensuring robust version control and effective collaboration.

• Testing Integration: Lead the integration of unit and integration testing into development workflows to ensure high-quality and reliable code deployment.

• Cloud Technology Expertise: Offer deep knowledge in cloud platforms, specifically AWS and Google Cloud, to optimize and secure cloud-based infrastructure.

• Value Demonstration: Showcase the tangible benefits of modern DevOps practices by improving team performance, efficiency, and product quality.

• Team Expansion Advocacy: Based on the success of your efforts, help build a case for hiring additional consultants to scale up the coaching and upskilling initiatives across the organization.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in DevSecOps practices and tools.

• Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Ansible and Terraform.

• Strong background in CI/CD pipelines, including experience with Artifactory and other related tools.

• Proficiency in code management using GitHub.

• Solid experience with unit and integration testing methodologies.

• In-depth understanding of cloud platforms, particularly AWS and Google Cloud.

• Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor technical teams.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

• Leadership ability to inspire and drive teams toward adopting modern DevOps practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a consulting or leadership role.

• AWS or Google Cloud certifications.

• Experience in leading large-scale organizational transformation projects.
