Description We are in search of an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Irving, Texas. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity within the telecom industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for vendor maintenance, payment processing, and resolving payable invoice discrepancies. They will also assist with training and onboarding new staff and supervising team members.

Responsibilities:

• Analyzing and reviewing data for accuracy

• Conducting vendor maintenance tasks

• Reporting on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) daily

• Assisting in supervising a team of accounts payable members

• Responding to urgent vendor inquiries in a timely manner and escalating issues as needed

• Onboarding new vendors and maintaining relationships

• Reconciling vendor statements and resolving purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies

• Ensuring internal controls are being followed

• Preparing and distributing accounts payable checks & electronic payments

• Supporting and participating in external audits

• Preparing payable reports for management review

• Supervising team progress and providing feedback to the department manager

• Utilizing various accounting software systems including Great Plains (GPAC), IBM AS/400, JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, and Microsoft Excel

• Performing other miscellaneous tasks as needed. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is essential for the role

• Familiarity with Great Plains (GPAC) is a plus

• Knowledge of IBM AS/400 would be beneficial

• Experience with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne is highly desirable

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel are required

• Ability to handle Accounting Functions efficiently is crucial

• Expertise in Accounts Payable (AP) is expected

• Familiarity with Check Processing procedures is needed

• Strong Data Entry skills are essential

• Ability to resolve Discrepancies in accounts is important

• Experience with Weekly Account Payable operations is desired
