Jacobs Structural Engineer - Buildings in Irvine, California

We’re seeking a Structural Engineer - Building Design to join our team in our Irvine, CA office. As part of our team, you’ll have the chance to work on projects that bring innovative solutions to our clients’ challenges locally and worldwide.

Collaborating with a team of Project and Construction Management, you’ll be providing advisory and expertise in building structural systems designs for a variety of building types, including airports, healthcare, federal buildings, mission critical, higher education, laboratories, and other commercial projects. You’ll also play a critical role in the mentoring of junior staff. Your role keeps our company connected and we’ll support you with what you need to be successful.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering with a structural emphasis

  • Profession Engineer (PE) license

  • 5+ years of related structural design experience

  • Revit experience

  • Experience with structural design & analysis software (RAM, RISA, ENERCALC, etc.)

  • Knowledge of building codes & standards (International Building Code, ASCE 7, etc.)

  • Attitude of taking independent initiative, exhibiting creative problem-solving, eagerness to learn, while remaining dedicated to teamwork

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ideally, You’ll Also Have: 

  • Structural Engineer (SE) license

  • Master's Degree in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis

  • Experience leading project teams
