Staff Accountant

Job Description

  • Assist with monthly financial statements, reports, and records by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information.

  • Assist with financial budgets and forecasts updates, including modeling and supporting schedules.

  • Perform Balance Sheet account reconciliations, accrual calculations, and other related accounting documents/schedules.

  • Analyze and review general ledger accounts in preparation for month-end close and resolve any outstanding accounting issues, including open reconciling items, in a timely manner.

  • Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations, analysis, accrual calculations, and other related accounting documents/schedules.

  • Understand/analyze Intercompany transactions.

  • Prepare bank reconciliations.

  • Prepare various sales reports and KPI reports.

  • Maintain fixed assets and depreciation calculations and analyses.

  • Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures.

  • Make certain all financial reporting deadlines are met.

  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close processes.

  • Contribute to department and organization special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a staff accountant role

  • Bachelor's Degree required

  • Knowledge of medium to large ERP system (use Microsoft Dynamics)

  • Advanced experience with MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook (Pivot tables, VLOOKUPs required)

  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting practices and principles

  • Knowledge of auditing practices and principles

  • Knowledge of Lease Accounting ASC 842 a plus

  • Experience and knowledge of M&A a plus
