Healthpeak Properties, Inc. Senior Operational Accountant - Senior Housing in Irvine, California

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Director - Operational Accounting, the Specialist – Senior Operational Accountant is responsible for the timely and accurate reporting of financial information for the Senior Housing Operating property portfolio. Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Map operator level financial information to Healthpeak financials and record monthly journal entries.

  • Prepare monthly reporting package, including:

  • Balance sheet and income statement variance reporting

  • Cash flow/distribution analysis

  • Capital expenditure reporting

  • Analysis of performance metrics (occupancy, margins, RevPOR)

  • Obtain and review account reconciliations for material balance sheet accounts and reconcile to Healthpeak’s accounts

  • Review lease amendments, modify/maintain lease profiles in CM module.

  • Bill and apply monthly rent payments, including escrows.

  • Maintain, and ensure compliance with SOX documentation

  • Coordinate with operators to obtain support for various audits.

  • Prepare various 10Q/K disclosures and other quarterly reporting schedules.

  • Provide support to Asset Management and other departments as requested.

  • Prepare schedules to reconcile to portfolio’s standalone annual audit

  • Prepare schedules to reconcile to operator’s quarterly financial reporting to the state

  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting for the portfolio

    POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • BS degree with Accounting emphasis

  • Previous public company experience

  • Previous experience in real estate or healthcare preferred

  • Detail oriented with good written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks

  • Strong Excel capabilities

  • Deadline and project oriented

  • Ability to make business recommendations

  • Teamwork capabilities

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities

  • Salary to commensurate with experience: $95,000 - $110,000, plus generous cash incentives and a competitive benefits package
