A Project Manager is needed for a leader in the world of Technical Services and Engineering in the Irvine, CA area. The Project Manager will oversee laboratory and mechanical construction projects for the FDA and GSA, ensuring project quality, budget, and schedule compliance while coordinating with stakeholders and managing construction administration, commissioning, and on-site operations.

responsibilities:

  • Oversee contract management, administrative support, cost estimating, schedule management, and value engineering.

  • Ensure effective construction administration and commissioning services.

  • Work with the Project Delivery Team, which includes client support staff, Design Build Contractor (DB), GSA personnel, and customer agency.

  • Manage project quality control and administrative tasks efficiently.

  • Assist the federal government in meeting project goals for schedule, budget, scope, and quality while ensuring environmental compliance.

  • Monitor coordination between on-site operations and construction work.

  • Resolve any on-site problems that arise, coordinating communication among all stakeholders.

Skills:

  • strong technical writing, analytical, and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and be resourceful.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Project) and project management platforms (Sharepoint, Procore, etc.).

  • Knowledge of construction scheduling (including critical path), equipment/material lead times, and task interdependencies.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent experience.

  • At least 8 years of experience in laboratory design and construction projects.
